The Annual General Body Meeting of ‘PUNARBASA’, an organization working for the empowerment and welfare of persons with disabilities, was held on 14th December, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the founder and Chief Advisor of the organization, Biraja Routray.

At the outset, Assistant Secretary Bansidhar Mohanty presented an overview of the activities and programmes undertaken during the financial year 2025–26. Treasurer Shiv Charan Samal presented the audited budget report for the financial year 2024–25, which was accepted after detailed discussion by the members present.

During the meeting, the founder of the organization, Shri Routray, highlighted two major achievements of the year — receiving support from the Azim Premji Foundation and obtaining ISSN recognition for the bi-monthly bilingual disability-focused newspaper ‘PUNARBASA Samachar’ published by the organization

Members including Swapnanshu Kumar Das, Sangram Chaudhary, Prashant Kumar Singh, Seshadeb Prasad Das, Jitendra Kumar Rout, Khirod Kumar Kar, Amarin Shahadat, Sanjay Kumar Jena, Mohammad Zahid Khan, and Praful Kumar Behera actively participated in the discussion and shared their valuable opinions and suggestions.

Advisor and member Prabhas Chandra Das, along with Social Economy Visharad Subhankar Nayak, spoke about the ongoing changes and emerging challenges in the social sector. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Vice President of the organization, Jyotiranjan Nayak
